Open Air Dancing

Each Summer, the Branch runs open air dancing sessions on some Saturday afternoons in August. These take place in Kensington Gardens (by the bandstand near the Round Pond).

Each afternoon we have live music and an MC to guide everyone through a programme of popular dances and easier dances for beginners and children. The event is very informal.

Everyone is welcome – no need to book, just turn up and have a go! Bring your friends and have a picnic.

Entrance is free!

Our first open air dance session on Saturday 21 August was a great success. The threatened rain held off and MC Jim Cook steered dancers old and new through a varied and enjoyable programme to the wonderful music of Frank Reid. Our thanks to them and to James Fairbairn who made it all happen. See photos below taken at the event by Joanne and Petar.

More dancing next Saturday 28 August when James Fairbairn will be the MC and we will dance to the music of Dave Hall. We look forward to seeing you there!

Subject to government health and social distancing restrictions in place at the time. Check here for any last minute changes

Dancing from 2.00 – 4.00 pm
