This class is intended for those who have already attained a reasonable standard of performance and have a good working knowledge of all steps and formations. The aim will be to improve dancing technique and increase confidence, performance style and enjoyment. With an emphasis on phrasing, rhythm and dancing to the music while maintaining good steps. At all times teamwork and social interaction with other dancers and good interpretation of the music will be stressed. The understanding and appreciation of music is greater enhanced by our resident musician Ken Martlew.

Our hope is that a greater understanding of the technique of dancing will lead to a greater enjoyment and an increased confidence.

The class meets from September through to May, usually as two ten week and one five week “summer” terms.
