Music Workshops

For musicians interested in learning more about and playing Scottish music, the RSCDS London Branch runs an annual Musicians’ Workshop in the London area. Past tutors have included Gillian Cummins, Keith Smith, Freeland Barbour, Maureen Rutherford, Pete Clark, Neil Copland and David Hall.

This year’s Musicians’ Workshop takes place on 18th October, 2008 and will be led by Muriel Johnstone.

The Branch also held a Musicians’ Day on May 10th, 2008 led by Gordon Simpson and will hold another led by George Meikle on May 9th 2009 with an opportunity to play for the evening dance.

The Thistle Club are holding their first Musicians’ Workshop on Saturday May 31st, 2008 from 10.00 a.m. - 3.30 p.m. at Acorn House, Midsummer Boulevard, Central Milton Keynes, MK9 3HP Map

Cost is £10. The workshop will be tutored by George Meikle.

Berks/Hants/Surrey Borders Branch RSCDS will hold their annual workshop in March, 2009. The workshop has morning and afternoon classes and the opportunity to play for the evening dance.

The Aylesbury Fiddle Rally takes place at The Aylesbury Civic Centre. Musicians play to an audience in an evening performance. Fiddle players welcome. The next rally will be in January, 2009.
