Ladies' Step Dance
Ladies Step

Step dances differ from Scottish Country Dances partly because they are usually solo dances.  A step dance requires the dancer to execute a defined sequence of foot movements.  The heyday of step dancing in Scotland was from about 1750 for roughly 100 years.  Dancing masters would compose dances for their pupils to perform, usually at balls, to demonstrate their skills.  The tradition continues and there are also modern step dances.

If you have never tried ladies step dancing and would like to give it a go or if you are an intermediate or experienced ladies step dancer wanting to improve on your ability then come along and give the class a try.  This is a general class suitable for all abilities.

You will be taught by an experienced ladies step dance teacher and dance to music provided by an experienced musician.

There are local establishments nearby for lunch.
