Our demonstration team gives displays of Scottish Country and Highland Dancing at large and small events all over the Southeast. Performances have ranged from television and West End cabaret spots to ceilidh nights and village fetes. Read more about the team’s history.
The team, with their musicians and caller, also help local fund raising groups to run their own Scottish style barn dances. If you think the team can help your function go with a swing, then do get in touch with:

Dem Team News - December 2011
Eight ladies from the Branch demonstration team performed a medley of three dances (The Dancing Master, The Robertson Rant and St Andrew's Day), choreographed by the demonstration team teacher Paul Plummer, for the children, their parents and other dancers and visitors at the afternoon family dance on Saturday 26th November 2011 which was very well received (photos to follow).
The season has kicked off very well with our new teacher, Paul Plummer, giving us different challenges in the form of a changing/evolving repertoire, as demonstrated recently at the very successful London Branch day school in October. We have also added to the growing team numbers by welcoming David Massie back into the team and Alison Raisin as a new member. In addition to us having to get our heads around new dances and dance forms Paul is making us work very hard on technique... yes, we too have to put in many hours maintaining and improving our dancing! Hopefully you will see the fruits of our continuing endeavours at the family dance on 26 November and Branch dance on 17 December. Despite growing numbers the team is always happy to welcome new members, especially men currently. If you would like to join us, and consider that your dancing technique and stamina is up to it, please feel free to either talk with Paul or me when you see us at an event/dance or contact Demonstration Team manager

Paul Plummer - September 2011
London Branch is very pleased to welcome Paul Plummer as the new teacher for the demonstration class/team, from 20th September 2011.
Paul started dancing aged 8, joining Manchester Branch, St Johns Club, Wokingham, (secretary for several years), and later Berks/Hants/Surrey Borders Branch (chairman for three years in the 1980's) and London Branch (joined  the dem team in 1981) following Bill Ireland in teaching the class/team from 1989-1992.  In addition he has taught a children's class for ten years, taught at Summer School in St Andrew's, has started a Scottish country dancing class through Adult Education in Guildford and taught other classes in the area as well as teaching abroad.
The demonstration team are looking forward to Paul's wealth of experience, vast skill base, energy and enthusiasm as the new term starts.
Elaine Wilde.

Dem Team news - February 2011
Congratulations go to the London Branch [Ladies] dem team for both winning the ladies section at the Newcastle Festival on 12th February 2011 and winning a second cup for the overall highest score across all competition sections; one of the two dances danced obtained an amazing score of 97 out of 100.
We were also very pleased to be joined this year by the RSCDS South East Branches, for both the mixed section and the display under the direction of Angela Young, repeating the display that we performed at The Royal Albert Hall last September with some slight adaptions. The mixed team were thrilled to be awarded 3rd place out of the 9 teams; quite a feat considering that the team were only brought together a few days before the festival.
