One of the frontline events of last year's Dance Scottish Week in London was the very successful Open House taster evening. For four hours London Branch welcomed members, non-members, general passers-by and anyone that was interested to come in and give them a taster of what Scottish Country Dancing is.
The hall was dressed immaculately and clever lighting helped show off the photoboards that had been created specially for the event. There was wine on arrival and a spread of traditionally Scottish fare for those that got peckish.
The evening kicked off with some simple Ceilidh dances and throughout the evening there was a mixture of dancing and music and spaces in between for everyone to enjoy each others company. A number of the branch classes, including the technique and children's class gave faultless displays. We’ll be offering the same this year to let folk have a peek at what’s on offer.
